2023 Events

Leavenworth Main Street hosts several events throughout the year encouraging people to enjoy our historic downtown.

Passageway Project- Scavenger Hunt 2Enjoy discovering 2 years of our Passageway Art. Turn in your completed scavenger hunt to the Main Street office, 416 Cherokee, for a prize!

ART WALK Shawnee Street– (Click the link to download the map) We have curated a variety of art found up and down Shawnee Street. Our map will allow you to explore Shawnee’s Art Walk and learn about the history behind some of the more prominent pieces.  (From the comfort of your own home!) And, when some of the social distancing guidelines are lifted, come down and “Walk the Walk” downtown Leavenworth! *This doesn’t represent all of the wonderful murals downtown, but it gets you started!

Alive After 5
First Thursday every month, year round:
Jan. 12 (2nd Thursday), Feb. 2, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, Jul. 13 (2nd Thursday),  Aug. 3, Sept. 7, Oct.5, Nov. 2, Dec. 7.
Each month will have a dedicated theme and participating businesses will have goodies based on that theme.

January-Chili & Soups • February-Chocolate •. March- International Beer • April- Art Crawl • May-Cinco de Mayo • June- Summer Wine Walk • July-Summer Cool Down • August-Craft Beer Crawl • September- Putt Putt Strut • October- Zombie Crawl • November- Time to Tailgate • December-Winter Wine Walk.

Each participating business will have a drink offering (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and a 1-2 bite food offering complementing the theme. Essentially it is a walking Happy Hour. During June, July, and August we have live music around town.  You MUST be 21 years old to buy a ticket and participate in International Beer Fest (March), the Summer Wine Walk (June), the Craft Beer Crawl (August) and the Winter Wine Walk (December.)

There is a $15 fee to participate, tickets can be purchased online via PayPal, and maps picked up at the Leavenworth Main Street office the night of Alive After 5. Check the Leavenworth Main Street Facebook page or the Alive After 5 Facebook page for more information.

Build a Bouquet! 
Saturday, May 13
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at participating shops
An interactive day with merchants that results in a beautiful floral arrangement for Mom. The cost is $10 to participate.

Free Outdoor Summer Concert Series
Saturdays: June 10, July 8, August 12: 7 to 10 p.m.
Haymarket Square, 7th & Cherokee.

This year we will be featuring Southern Reign, Penny Black & Southbound! Be sure to join in the fun!

Concerts are  sponsored by numerous businesses from the Leavenworth area. Look for bands and Restaurants late spring! Family friendly!   Food, beer and beverages for purchase. No coolers allowed, thank you!

DIY for Dad
Saturday, June 17, 10 am-2pm
An interactive walk through downtown. Visit participating merchants and make a card, make a key fob, take a picture at our photo booth, make a keepsake handprint and put it all in a nice gift bag for dad. Map and bag hand out begins at 9:45. You must be in line with an adult to pick up a map.

Sidewalk Sales
July 6, 7, 8: 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Cherokee, Delaware, and Shawnee streets
The biggest sales of the year, Broadway to the river.  Look for tables outside in front of your favorite shops! With so many great shops participating hard to keep a fair list updated! If you have a favorite shop call and find out if they are participating!

Christmas in July! 
July 29
Participating businesses offering fun mid year specials! And Leavenworth Main Street is giving away $1000! for every $20 you spend at a participating business receive a ticket toward the drawing! 10- $100 Bundles of Main Street Bucks.

Downtown Loft Tour- September 9, 2023
What does the view look like from the 2nd floor? On this one of a kind tour check out what 2nd floor downtown living looks like. 8+ lofts in the downtown. Tickets available for purchase from the Leavenworth Main Street office or on our website closer to the event.

Safe Trick or Treat
Saturday, October 28: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Trick-or-treat at participating downtown businesses.

Holiday Open House 
Saturday, Nov. 4: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Kick off the holiday shopping season with special activities that capture the Christmas spirit! Music, carriage rides, special events around town! The first 200 customers receive a map and collect ornaments at participating stores. No participation fee.

Veterans Day VIP Reception
Saturday, November 11: immediately following the Leavenworth Veterans Day Parade
Join us for refreshments in honor of our Veterans, lower level of Exchange National Bank, 630 Delaware

Small Business Saturday/Shop Small Saturday or The Miracle on Main Street
Saturday, Nov. 25
Support local businesses by shopping small on Small Business Saturday. Participating businesses will have specials and giveaways! And, Leavenworth Main Street is giving 10- $100 bundles of Main Street bucks away! For every $25 you spend at participating businesses receive a ticket toward the drawing!

Festival of Trees- December 1- December 20 
Walk around town and see how the shops and restaurants have decorated their Christmas Trees. Pick up you Tree guide at 416 Cherokee St. Beginning December 1.  Vote on your favorite 3 and turn in your guide by December 20! We will award the top choices 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cash awards!

Reindeer Romp
Saturday, December 9, 10-2pm
Are you ready to meet Rudolph! Come out to our 3rd Annual Reindeer Romp1 This is not a 5k run! It’s nice walk around town while you take part in Reindeer Games! This is a free event! Map handout will begin at 9:45 YOU MUST BE IN LINE with an adult to pick up a map. Music, crafts, food,  Plus some other fun we will have up our sleeves!
